21st Century Community Learning Center
Central "Steamer Success" Before & After School Programs
Welcome to the Central Junior High After School Program - Steamer Success. My name is
Vanessa Maxon and I am the 21st Century Community Learning Center Site Coordinator. The
21st Century Community Learning Center is a federal grant funded program brought to you
through a partnership between the Kewanee School District and the Regional Office of
Education. This program provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours
for students, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low performing schools. The
program helps students meet state and local standards in core academic subjects such as
reading and math, offers students a broad array of enrichment activities that can complement
the school day academic programs, and offers literacy and other educational services to the
families of participating students.
