Kewanee High School recently partnered with OSF St. Luke Hospital to provide science demonstrations for their Camp Med program. Junior high students visited the KHS biology, advanced science, and veterinarian science lab classrooms to complete a variety of hands-on activities led by KHS teachers and KHS FFA volunteers. Mrs. Callahan and student teacher Ms. Cagwin demonstrated how veterinarian technicians properly restrain animals to assist veterinarians. Students practiced on stuffed animals with the help of FFA volunteers Stardeja Jordan and Rachel DeRycke. Mrs. Ellerbrock demonstrated the Anatomage table and showed students how the technology enables students to learn all the major systems in the human body with digital imaging. Ms. Hoadley taught students about blood typing. Students completed a blood typing lab with simulated blood.
