Bob Ward of the U of I Extension recently visited the 1st grade classes at Belle. He read a story to teach about the history of corn and how it has been used throughout the years. He also brought in a corn stalk to show the students the parts of the plant up close. The students were able to complete a craft using corn kernels and finished with a snack of popcorn.
