Irving Elementary School students participated in center activities on Friday to celebrate Hog Days and learn about the meaning of Labor Day. Students made pig noses with Ms. Reiter and pig cookies with Mrs. Minx. They also completed a variety of reading and writing activities. Many teachers at Irving are using innovative strategies such as flexible seating to involve students in group work and differentiated learning. Teachers also use morning meetings to teach students social-emotional wellness and to create positive classroom communities.
