Kewanee Community Unit District #229 Launches New FFA Chapter, Celebrates with
Charter Signing Ceremony

Kewanee, Illinois – Kewanee Community Unit District #229 is proud to announce the establishment
of its very own Kewanee Middle FFA Chapter, a milestone for students passionate about agriculture,
leadership, and career development. The new chapter held its official charter signing ceremony on
Friday November 8th,2024 to commemorate its founding and recognize the first group of members.
At the event, founding members of the Kewanee Middle FFA chapter, along with Illinois Association
FFA officers, faculty advisors and school administrators, signed the official charter, marking the
beginning of an exciting journey focused on premier leadership, personal growth, and career success
for students. This inaugural group of Kewanee Middle FFA members will have the opportunity to
participate in FFA’s intracurricular activities, blending academic instruction with hands-on,
experiential learning.

“We are thrilled to launch our Kewanee Middle FFA chapter,” said Mrs. Callahan, Kewanee FFA
Advisor. “FFA provides our students with invaluable skills in leadership, communication, and
teamwork while fostering an understanding and appreciation for agriculture and its essential role in
our society.”

Through FFA, students will gain access to a wide range of career and leadership development
activities. The chapter’s founding members look forward to engaging in service projects, career
exploration, and activities that strengthen community ties.
In line with FFA’s mission, Kewanee’s new chapter aims to nurture the potential of students and
inspire the next generation of leaders. The signing of the chapter’s charter signifies not just the start
of the chapter but the beginning of a legacy that will impact students and the local community for
years to come.
